k_rehash.mpg  :  An exercise in timing

This file is a mix using footage I had recorded my senior year in high school for a project, but couldn't complete because the deck-to-deck editing was so poor, it was difficult to get the timing right.  In this clip, the lead character is forced to fight himself in this TV-style teaser.  And since the actor has no real twin brother, editing was key in making the "swordfights" contained herein appear smooth.  Note the music transition halfway through.

re_hamas.mpg  :  An exercise in composition

Forget for the moment that the "Middle East" looks like a foggy, spooky forest.  Again, it's a twin vs. twin (same guy 3 years later) in a film-style trailer.

Both of the above were composed using ULead Video Editor on PC.

The following clips are from the student film we discussed.  I sent some clips from it in an attempt to secure an internship with the Emmy's in Los Angeles.  I don't recall if these were included (my tape was non-returnable...)   The original film was edited on a rather clumsy A-B analog.

grizzly.avi

There are only 4 cuts in this 22 second segment, but it was all one camera, and there were no L-cuts used.

car.avi

Again, all one camera.  Quick cuts, and two L-cut inserts.  The shot of the man with the sunglasses was actually recorded almost two weeks prior to the car stunt.  Unfortunately, the camera we'd used was for **** so that shot looks very blue...
